A very important league game for us this week end. we travel to Leo's  a win is a must

An interesting day was had at Scunthorpe - we ended up drawing 10 -10. read my thought on the game in the reports!!

RECENTLY LOST: one impressive home record......Oh it's OK its on it's way to Liverpool!!

Read how we lost our unbeaten home record to Waterloo

This weekend we welcome Waterloo to Crow trees and we can expect a hard game, bu8t after recent games played by our rivals we just about have our noses in front, but only on point difference, so a good game will be needed this weekend to keep ahead.

Thanks to Billingham for this weekend's game, it was good to get our less experienced player some good match practice, and it also allowed me to move players to different positions. we may never get Victoria Rivett back into the front row after her performance on the flank.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Worcester on the 9th, made better by the win in a keenly contested game, and we were last out the bar! (no surprise there then)

Our first friendly of the season v Carlisle at home this weekend KO 2.15

New Year but we have the same objectives:

to win all our games and to play to our high standards and enjoy all that is the whole experience of rugby on and off the pitch

We won our shield game against Leo's in a tight finish we snuck home 17-0, next we are off to Worcester to play their second team.
We are off to the Vale of Lune this week, with an aim of staying top of the league, see on Monday if we can.
Well I hope you all had a happy Christmas and New Year, and that you didn't each too much.
Congratulation to Mel Christie on her hat trick for us on Sunday, see the report for more details
Durham Under 16s win 15-0, with tries from Amber Hyde and Rosie Mangle
Come and see the Durham Under 16 county side play their Northumberland counterparts at Bullocksteads (behind the Falcons ground) on Sat 14th Dec. KO 2.00pm. Durham won the first 34 - 5 so Northumberland will be looking for revenge!
We won 56-5 and played really well. see the report. Now we will prepare for the shield game on the 15th at home again.
This week we entertain Leo's from Leeds, in the league and then they will travel up to us again on the 15th for the first round of the Shield. Bring it on.

We are still top of the league!!

We are all thrilled for Melanie Christie who played her first game for Scotland v Sweden on 24/11/02. we are sure she will have played well and we look forward to seeing her play her next international.

All who remember Clare and Glen will be glad to know both have now found jobs, Well we all knew they would. Clare seems to be running a large country club with wine tours, 4x4 tours, 16 miles of beach and some 5000 acres of land as w4elll as a gym and all other sundries. Details will follow and it sounds a great place for a visit, say during a Lions Tour!

Congratulation to Scunthorpe on their first Div 1 League win and over Waterloo, see you this Sunday at Crowtrees

   WATERLOO'S DRAMATIC ENTRANCE

There we were just pootling along through our league games, minding our own business and KAPOW! We get Waterloo parachuted into our league from Premiership 1. This has been done in order to presumably stop them folding altogether, and it is good to see the RFUW looking for ways to help teams out of sticky situations. I’m sure most clubs have experienced those sorts of problems, and if you haven’t then you are the lucky ones.

This on the one hand it is good news in that it ensures that the game does not lose one of its oldest teams and that their players can continue to play for their chosen club and that they will be given time to re-establish themselves. The only bad point (only Joking) is that now we will have to play another good, well organised and strong team in the league in our bid to go one better than last season.

Through gritted teeth we offer Jane Leonard good luck having joined Ripon in Premiership 2, in her efforts to play for England

We must offer our congratulations to Melanie Christie, our full back on being selected in the Scottish squad, and about time, hope you have a large wardrobe foe all that stash coming your way.

We had a great night in Swalwell on our school night out, not sure what the locals made of it. when I have pictures we will publish.

We were gutted having gone to Hove and lost 7-5, but at least we travelled!!

Right we are ready for the start of the league season and cant wait to get to grips with the Vale of Lune. With Natalie Badcock, Jane Leonard and Vicky Rivett all taking part in the Super 4's and 10 Girls in the North East Regional Squad I am looking for a flying start to the season. Read how we got on Monday. Not too early as we have birthdays to celebrate in the true back to school tradition in Swalwell.

In a slight change to the site all our match reports are on their own page just go to REPORTS

Congratulations to Claire (Yorkie) Foulain one of our Ex players, now living in France and her husband Sev after the birth of their first child Joshua Samuel, born on the 17th July 2002 at 2.15pm weighing 3.28kg/7lb3oz.

Also Good Luck to Clare and Glen as they start their new adventure in New Zealand. If any teams are looking for a fly half get in touch.

Congratulations to our award winners from last season.
Due to a lack of time and energy after last season these are a bit late in being published.

Jane was way out in front as our top Try scorer
and also received the award as the Best Newcomer

Ruth and Nat were the two players who
played in the most games

Catherine Arden was the coaches choice for
the most improved player

Yet again Natalie received the most votes as the
Players Player of the season
